La Merced - 2005-07-La-Merced

    This is our trip from Lima to La Merced, which is at the beginning of the Peruvian rain forest jungle.  To get to this town, we drove from the Pacific coast, through the Andes Range, peaking at an altitude of 15,806 feet, for a distance of about 200 miles.  Temperatures average 85 degrees during the day.
